A Client of Fabri Consulting since our formation in 2005, Fabri have successfully completed many Projects in the UK for SHELL resulting in recomendations for Fabri to support this challanging project

River Water Tunnel (RWT)

The Shell River Water Tunnel is a services tunnel running from the Shell HQ building in London, with an intake and discharge shaft local to the London eye on the river Thames. The tunnel is utilised for the building heating and cooling infrastructure.

The tunnel initially constructed in 1960 complete with 27” Class D concrete lined, cast iron pipe, spigot & socket (S&S) joints and bitumen sheathing for the intake and discharge pipework.

A further bypass line was installed in the early 80’s to allow maintenance and inspection on the inlet and discharge lines however there are no records of this being brought into service.

Fabri are supporting the Client with the pipeline integrity aspects of the project to try and retain the infrastructure for a further 25 years. The immediate requirement is to get the bypass line in-service and operational to allow further detailed inspection and the required repairs to the intake and discharge piping.
