August 2018 - Fabri Staff Charity Day
The mechanical and electrical departments got together and arranged a charity day in aid of Crohn’s Disease UK.
To put their skills to the test they opted for the Gourock Yacht Club 2018 raft race across the river Clyde.
A total of eight rafts took part in the race which followed a course along Ashton Prom finishing at Royal Gourock slipway.
Over 100 people turned up to watch the race in which team Fabri came in a respectable second place, but most importantly raised £500 for a good cause.
Congratulations to all that got involved, and a big thanks to all that turned out to support this fun day that will help many people.

APRIL 2018 - SIS Compliance
Our client had recently invested $300 million in constructing a new oil storage facility. During that projects development a project risk assessment (HAZOP & LOPA) had been completed with an output that identified a requirement for 8 safety instrumented functions. During a post project audit it was determined that the applicable international standards IEC 61508 & 61511 had not been complied with and that corrective action was urgently needed.
Fabri Consulting Engineers completed the following work within months of receiving the clients instructions:
SIL Validation
SIL validation report.
SIF Design and Management
Functional safety assessments for stages 1, 2 and 3;
Functional safety plan and audit schedule; and
Review of deliverables with client and subsequent requested updates.
The client is now undertaking the recommended actions to ensure the Terminal can be demonstrated to be safe to operate.
