Senior EC&I Engineer with Fabri Consulting Engineers since 2007, Tom has over 20 years’ experience within the Steel and Oil & Gas Industries.
Prior to joining Fabri, Tom developed from an apprentice trained maintenance and service engineer to an EC&I design engineer, project manager and commissioning manager.
Following his apprenticeship, through part time study Tom gained a BTEC and then a HNC in electrical and electronic engineering at Sheffield Hallam University as well as BS7671 and inspection and testing qualifications. More recently Tom completed his COMPEX training course in hazardous area electrical installation & inspection and IEC 61511 / 61508 Functional safety for the process industry training.
Tom’s roles and responsibilities include producing feasibility studies, engineering calculations, detailed designs and cost estimates providing a multi discipline knowledge of all EC&I systems associated with the requirements of the downstream sector. In addition to this Tom assists the Directors and Senior staff with the development of staff by providing guidance and undertaking detailed reviews of project designs and technical documents.
During his time working within the downstream sector Tom has worked for a wide variety of clients on projects in the UK and internationally.
